Making sure your Sunbed Hire is right for you

We will then let you know the next available delivery date for your area.

When making an enquiry with us we aim to deliver within the next working day, however this sometimes is not possible during peak season between the months of april to september so we highly recommend during our busiest months you should book your sunbed in advance, so you are not to be disappointed.

To hire a sunbed from hometan you must be aged 18 or over and provide us with photographic I.D. (eg drivers licence or passport) and a recent utility bill for when we arrive to confirm your name, age and address.

Paying for your Sunbed hire

There are a few payment options for your sunbed hire, you can either pay by cash on delivery or by bank transfer, the payment must clear in our account before the driver can leave the Sunbed in your property if you choose to pay by bank transfer. Please note we no longer accept cheques as payment.

You do have to pay for the sunbed in full on or before the sunbed is delivered.

Extending your Sunbed hire period

If you would like to rehire the sunbed we do recommend you give us a call 1 to 2 weeks before the end of the hire period. This is especially necessary during peak season. If you do not wish to extend your hire do not worry we will contact you usually 1 to 2 days before the end of the hire period to arrange a suitable time for us to collect the sunbed.

Responsibilities for the person that hires from Hometan Sunbed Hire

1. It is illegal for any person under the age of 18 to use a sunbed and the person that signs the hire contract is responsible for ensuring no-one under 18 uses the hirers equipment.

2. Only use the sunbed once in any 24 hours and do not tan in the natural sun on the same day. After 4 consecutive daily sessions you should wait 48 hours before reusing the sunbed.

3. Determine your skin type as this is the basis for your maximum exposure time. Initial exposure should be a third of the maximum exposure time. The exposure time should then be increased gradually up to the maximum exposure time for your skin type.

4. Sunbeds can increase the risk of skin cancer so we do not recommend you use a sunbed if you have had skin cancer or if there is a history of skin cancer within your family. We do not recommend the use of sunbeds if you have very fair skin or lots of freckles/moles or both.

5. Do not use the sunbed if you are pregnant or suspect you are. If you are taking medication you should consult your doctor before using the sunbed as certain drugs can make the skin more sensitive to UV light.

6. Always remove jewellery, cosmetics, perfume, glasses or contact lenses before use and always use the safety goggles that are provided. Failure to use the goggles can seriously damage your eyes.

7. Always use a second timing device when using the sunbed (e.g. an alarm clock).

8. Do not dismantle the sunbed or remove any parts. The sunbed should not be moved from the address it was signed at. Never cover or restrict ventilation holes or fans and always unplug the sunbed from the mains when not in use.

9. Do not tamper with or touch the light tubes or any other parts of the sunbed. If you smell burning or the sunbed develops any other fault immediately unplug the sunbed and contact us. Do not use until the sunbed has been inspected.

10. The overhead canopy should be positioned 6/8 inches away from your face.

11. The person signing the hire contract is responsible to repay the company for any loss or damage to our property either by theft, burglary, malicious or accidental damage until it is returned to us undamaged. Failure to return the sunbed once the contract has ended incurs a charge at £15 per day. The sunbed will be reported stolen if it is not returned to us within 7 days of the contract ending.

12. You must notify us of any changes to your contact details that were given upon booking the sunbed. A charge of £10 per call out may be incurred due to failure to supply us with new contact details.

13. It is your responsibility to inform other users on how to use the sunbed correctly and safely and to read all relevant safety instructions before use. Hometan sunbeds will not be liable for any burns and injuries.
